Uses: In India, the pith of young trees makes good sago. Once a staple diet of many hunter gatherer communities. Inner wood shavings taken from dried trees and used to start fires for temples - fire is started by rubbing mica stones, for ritual fires of fire walking ceremonies. Outer wood is used for construction.
