Product Description: A large deciduous tree. Flower: In terminal panicles, golden yellow. Fruit: An orbicular pod with broad wings, green turning brown. Seed one, oblong or subreniform. Trees exudes a red resin which dries into solid blocks. Bark thick grey with vertical cracks. Leaf pubescent below.

Uses: Bark used as medicine. Resin exuded from bark, (called ‘Kino’) used for medicine.

Management Practices: Tree considered holy and not used for firewood. Bark medicinal. Bees forage on the flowers. Resin applied to forehead to ensure safe journeys, especially when in the forest.
