| Product Description: | A tree reaching a diameter of 175cm and a clear length of 26 meters. The trunk is swollen at the base, at least when young. The air roots are usually from a few centimetres to 60cm in length. Where the tree is growing in soft mud, they are much longer, and have been known to reach a length of more than 2 meters. The bark is very dark gray. The wood is moderately hard and moderately heavy to heavy. The leaves are thick and leathery, rounded at the apex, 6-10cm long, and nearly as wide as long. The fruit is hard, rounded, depressed at the apex, 3-4cm in diameter, and surrounded nearly to the middle by the calyx tube, the lobes of which are many present when the fruit is mature.
