Product Description: | an erect herb with stout, fleshy, aromatic rootstocks. The leaves usually grow in pairs and green, often with a purplish blotch in the center. They are from 25-70cm long and 8-15cm wide. The flowers stalks spring directly from the rootstocks and not from the leaf tufts, and appear before the leaves. The spike is cylindrical, 5-8cm in diameter and 10-15cm long, and is composed of numerous somewhat spreading, rounded bracts, the lower of which are green and more or less tipped with pink, the upper ones usually longer and purple, each containing several flowers, of which the lower open first. The corolla tube is about 2cm long, yellowish-white, sometimes tinged with purple |
